This coming May 2023 the UWL Football team will be traveling across the Atlantic to live #THEEXPERIENCE in Italy.
While abroad, the team will compete against a local Italian program while experiencing the local culture. The team will partake in many different activities in Florence, Milan and Rome as they learn all about the great history of Italy. Coach Janus consistently talks to the student athletes about living their best lives while in college, and the now get to go live #THEEXPERIENCE while being immersed in another country's culture. The team thanks the community, families and friends that always support the team and ask for their help in making this unique opportunity come to fruition.
NCAA 12.1.1.1.2 Designation of Earned Fundraising Money, Student-Athletes: Our institution may designate specific funds earned by a student-athlete through institutional fundraising activities provided all of the following conditions are satisfied: (Adopted: 1/15/11 effective 8/1/11)
(a) Designated funds do not exceed the student-athlete's actual and necessary expenses (e.g., transportation, uniforms);
(b) Any funds that exceed a student-athlete's actual and necessary expenses (e.g., transportation, uniforms) must be
applied to the general team or institutional fund and cannot be designated for any specific student-athlete;
(c) All designated funds must be deposited with the institution to administer; and
(d) Any unearned funds must be deposited into the general team or institutional fund and cannot be designated for
any student-athlete.

Welcome Meeting - Orientation and free time
Florence City Walking Tour - Visit the birthplace of Italian renaissance
Day 3
Practice Session - Practice at local field
Florence City Tour - See the history of Florence and it's historic landmarks
Cooking Class and Dinner - Learn how to cook traditional Italian dishes
Day 4
Travel to Pisa
Pisa Guided Excursion - See the Leaning Bell Tower of Pisa
Exhibition Game - Will compete against a local Italian team
Day 5
Siena City Tour - Experience Siena's medieval times
Travel to Rome
Day 6
Colosseum and Roman Forum - Visit the Arch of Constantine and the ruins of the Roman Forum along with other things from Rome's past
Pantheon - Explore the Pantheon and see the tombs of famous kings and the artist Raphael
Trevi Fountain - See Rome's famous fountain and toss a coin in for the safe return to the Eternal City
Piazza Navona - See Rome's most fantastic fountain
Day 7
Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilicia - See the Sistine Chapel and venture into St. Peter's Square
Rome Free Time - Enjoy the city of Rome and experience the Italian way of life

Return Home
